The Hit Drama Announced for 7th Season on the British Broadcaster
The acclaimed police drama AC-12 will make a comeback for its seventh season, confirmed by the broadcaster.
A brand new six-episode season created by the show's creator starts production in Belfast this spring, according to the network.
Vicky McClure shared her enthusiasm about the return, saying she was "so excited" about the show's renewal. Adrian Dunbar added, "How wonderful it is to know that the main trio will be back filming together next year."
The previous season wrapped up in recent years with a finale that attracted over 17 million viewers. Rumors about a potential return have been circulating ever since, but official word only arrived this week.

The seventh season begins with the anti-corruption unit having been disbanded and rebranded as the new police oversight body, as revealed by the announcement.
Martin Compston's character, Kate Fleming, and Ted Hastings remain tasked to combat corruption within the police force.
The team's mission "faces unprecedented challenges", and under these circumstances, the trio are assigned their "most delicate case to date."

A new character, Det Insp Dominic Gough, described as a charismatic officer known for busts of criminal networks, is accused of abusing his position to act as a offender.

Nevertheless, the network confirmed on Tuesday that a seventh series is now in development.
